Losing is winning in marriage — Mustard Seed Budget

Give in to your spouse a thousand times. That’s they way you win — by losing. Marriage rewards an overflow of joy to those who manage to figure out its elusive secrets. The road to happiness is selflessness. It’s ironic: you get what you want (not everything) by giving up what you want. Of course, […]

‘China’s Jack the Ripper’ caught after 28 years on the run

China’s ‘Jack the Ripper’ caught 00:57

Story highlights

  • Killer accused of the murders of 11 people, including an eight-year-old girl
  • Gao Chengyong caught after DNA evidence linked him to the crimes
  • First murder committed in 1988

(CNN)A suspected serial killer accused of the rape and murder of 11 women has been caught after almost three decades on the run.

Chinese police said this week that Gao Chengyong, 52, was arrested after DNA evidence linked him to the crimes which began 28 years ago.
Gao targeted young women dressed in red, who he followed home before raping and killing them, often by slitting their throats, according to Chinese state media.
He would also mutilate the bodies of the victims, some as young as eight years old, leading to his being dubbed “China’s Jack the Ripper.”

Killer who hated women

According to state media, Gao confessed to 11 murders in Gansu province and Inner Mongolia between 1988 and 2002.
The majority of the attacks took place around Baiyin, a city of around 1.7 million in northeastern Gansu. Such was the panic caused by the murders at the time that women avoided walking unaccompanied at night, and the local authorities offered a 200,000 yuan ($30,000) reward for any information.
“The suspect has a sexual perversion and hates women,” Baiyin police said at the time, according to state media.
“He’s reclusive and unsociable, but patient.”
While the reward failed to generate any leads, a new investigation launched earlier this year by the national Criminal Investigation Bureau reexamined DNA evidence that had been gathered from the crime scenes.
After his uncle was arrested for a minor offense, his DNA was taken and was close enough to the killer’s that police suspected he must be related.
Detectives narrowed in on Gao, covertly gathering his DNA and testing it to confirm that he was, indeed, the reclusive “Ripper.”
Gao’s family seems to have been in the dark about his crimes, his wife wailed and cried when she heard of his arrest, the Beijing News reported.

Samson Siasia – I Do Not Want To Be Involved In The Nigeria Football System Anymore! [Why Siasia Resigned]

Image result for samson siasia vs germanyDespite the heroics of our Dream Team at the Rio Olympic Games, Nigeria u-23 head coach, Samson Siasia has resigned and wants nothing to do with the Nigerian football system. Siasia led the Olympic eagles to claim the bronze medal, Nigeria’s only medal of the tournament and let’s not forget that he also led the Beijing 2008 Olympic team to claim Silver.

Nigeria’s most decorated Olympic coach has spoken on the treatment and frustrating system of the NFF. He said,

“I have reached that point where I have to say I have had  enough, I’ve gone several months without getting paid, years of being derided and disrespected by the sports authorities in Nigeria but I am done already.” Siasia told BBC Sport.

“It’s sad that after all we went through to get to Brazil and end up winning a bronze medal, the players, coaching and backroom staff never received a ‘thank you’ in appreciation despite a turbulent time at the Olympics.”

“First we had the minister deride us for camping in Atlanta and even denied our existence as a group before the flight problems.”

“Players had to embark on a strike to be heard, then the boys kept a good spirit to win an incredible medal, only to be publicly criticised for speaking to the Japanese surgeon who supported and rewarded the team for their brave spirit I’ve taken a deep look at everything and concluded that things need to change for us to progress as a country not just in football but our general lives.I have fulfilled my obligations as a citizen, footballer and coach; right now I do not want to be involved in the Nigerian football system anymore.”

The Jezebel Spirit, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and Immorality in the Church 9:30AM EST 2/11/2015 Jennifer LeClaire

Lee Grady is right. Fifty Shades of Grey—erotic mommy porn that is making its way from the printed page to the big screen this Valentine’s Day—is perverted.

“The book was accurately dubbed ‘mommy porn’ because it is sexually graphic and full of crude language, and also because Christian expects his girlfriends to totally submit to his sexual tastes—which involve whips, chains, handcuffs and gray neckties,” Grady writes. “This is not just mainstream porn. This is mainstream bondage porn.”

Grady is spot on with his three-pronged assessment. Fifty Shades of Grey encourages sexual deviance, glorifies violence against women and totally perverts the meaning of love. The movie release is somewhat ironic, given Hollywood’s focus on—and profitability—producing faith-based films like Noah, God’s Not Dead and Heaven is For Real in recent years.

Of course, Hollywood has long served many gods—just like Queen Jezebel in the Old Testament (see 1 Kin. 16:31). The spirit that influenced the wicked queen—and the spirit driving much of the filth emerging from Hollywood—is alive and well today. The problem is that most don’t recognize this sinister spirit for what it is. The spirit of Jezebel is not merely a spirit of control and manipulation. It’s a spirit of seduction that woos people into sexual immorality and idolatry (Rev. 2:20). Hollywood exalts the spirit of Jezebel and Fifty Shades of Grey glorifies its perversion.

Jezebel Makes Its Home in Hollywood

The Old Testament Queen Jezebel was a Phoenician princess who married Ahab, king of Israel. Her father was Ethbaal, king and high priest of the Sidonians. Queen Jezebel introduced Baal worship into Israel and encouraged Ahab to build Asherah poles (see 1 Kin. 16:33).

Baal worship gives us clues as to the workings of Jezebel. The name Baal means “lord” or “possessor.” According to the Dake Annotated Reference Bible, Baal was the sun-god of Phoenicia, and the supreme deity among the Canaanites and various other pagan nations. His full title is Baal-Shemaim, which means “lord of heaven.” In Greek mythology, Zeus would be the equivalent of Baal.

The Canaanites, who were Baal worshippers, participated in sex worship, fertility rites, religious prostitution and human sacrifice—all to pacify the gods. Fast-forward 55 book in the Bible and you find Jesus warning us of a false prophetess called Jezebel who teaches and seduces God’s servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols (Rev. 2:20). That’s what Fifty Shades of Grey—and books and movies like it—are doing. Again, Fifty Shades of Grey is a prime example of Jezebel’s sexual perversion.

Judgment Begins in the House of God

While many in the church are up in arms about Fifty Shades of Grey—and well they should be—the irony is the church has long tolerated Jezebel. And judgment begins in the house of God (see 1 Pet. 4:17).

Speaking to the church at Thyatira, Jesus said, “Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols” (Rev. 2:20).

Sadly, the spirit of Jezebel is picking off pastors one by one as they succumb to the evil desires in their own hearts. Too few recognize the sinister workings of Jezebel’s covert seduction. They’ve bought into what I call the “Jezebel deception” and are either tolerating sexual immorality in the church or merely failing to recognize the true Jezebel in operation because they are on a witch hunt for controlling, manipulative women.

I won’t recount the list of fallen Protestant pastors in the past year alone nor the pedophilia in the Catholic church. Headline-making moral failures no longer shock me, but they still grieve me—and grieve the Lord. I can’t imagine how He feels about Fifty Shades of Grey. But again, judgment begins in the house of God.

Let’s Examine Ourselves

As I’ve said before, sexual immorality and idolatry are growing trends in the church—and I imagine they’re more prevalent in the pews than they are in the pulpits. The spirit of Jezebel is often behind this immoral trend, tapping into the lust of the flesh with its seductive agenda.

I wonder how many kids’ church teachers read Fifty Shades of Grey and how many Christian youth will stand in line for a ticket to the movie this weekend. And I shudder to think of the seeds that will be planted in the hearts and minds of those who digest this perversion.

So while we’re up in arms about Fifty Shades of Grey, perhaps we should look in our own lives for this spirit of Jezebel’s influence. Again, judgment begins in the house of God. While you are boycotting Fifty Shades of Grey, take a moment to examine your own heart for immorality and idolatry so you can avoid the snares of Jezebel in your own life. And don’t go see Fifty Shades of Grey.

How do I rate the incumbent Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan?

With presidential elections just around the corner in my beloved country Nigeria, I have decided to air my opinion on the political landscape and governance in my country as a whole.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been in power for six years now. This is how i rate him thus far.

Agreed Mr President has failed Nigerians in many areas. The two main outstanding areas of failure are:
a) His toothless anti-corruption drive (no highly placed corrupt individual was ever convicted in his 6 years rule).

b) Insecurity (he seems to lack the “liver” to deal with the situation, even after telling Nigerians that he has the list of Boko-haram sponsors)!

On the other hand, he seems to have an impressive score card on other issues. Let us objectively look at a few of them:
1] Goodluck Jonathan signed FOI bill that Obasanjo refused to sign.

2] Goodluck approved N18,000 Minimum wage from N7,500 Which Obasanjo refused to sign and NYSC allowance from N7,500 to nearly approved N39,500.

3] Goodluck dualized federal roads (about 25,000km) which Obasanjo and past Govts abandoned. By the way Obasanjo sunk billions into Power, but nothing happened!

4] The rail system is working now, with little budget But Obasanjo Sunk billions of dollars without result, other pasts leaders ignored it.

5] Goodluck established 12 new universities, 9 in the North to improve learning and knowledge and increase the Jambites admission rate.

6] Goodluck established the Nomadic Education for Almajiris ( abandoned street children in the North) and those deprived of education by their own people.

7] Goodluck has been building dams and improving the country’s power from 2500mW to 6,000MW – And successfully privatized the sector which many analyst believed is the best way to go.

8] Agriculture has been revamped and for the first time in Nigerian history, Food prices came down during Christmas, instead of skyrocketing.

9] 2013 and 2014 was the Christmas in Nigeria, where Nigerian did not sleep in filling stations for 3 to 4 days to get Petrol or 100s of people being roasted alive in attempts to get fuel in petrol stations.

10] Airports are wearing world class looks and every zone have International airport.

11] This administration has employed more people in their 5years in office than any other in the history of Nigeria [Via Agric, Energy sector,16 New Car Companies, 12 New Universities, 3,826 primary Health Care Centres, Teaching Hospitals] SURE-P, and YOUWIN.

Let the truth without any bias be told, which of our former leaders have done half of the above? If Mr President can deal with the issue of Security and tackles Corruption, Nigeria would be a haven.

I think any progressive minded Nigerian should give him a chance (even though I don’t see him as Nigeria’s Messiah)!

And talking about Nigeria’s Messiah, I don’t see General Muhammadu Buhari as one either! I don’t belong to any political party, but I stand for the truth!

When General Muhammadu Buhari was a Military Head of State, he held the “ultimate Power”, and still, didn’t really do much! If you ask me, honestly i don’t think electing him (now 72) he will perform the magic which he could not do when he was in his 40s (when his grey matter was vibrant).

What do you think?

What actually makes a musical piece “christian”?

If you were asked to decide what element of music makes a musical piece “christian” or otherwise, what would it be?

Would the emphasis be on the lyrics (message in the lyrics), beats, rhythm, tempo (slow or fast), or … what?

Some believers would consider christian hip-hop and rap “ungodly” and unchristian-like! Others believe the rock genre is demonic, so any gospel song in that genre is considered “untouchable” by them!

If you were to make your christian-music collection what genre of music wouldn’t you consider “christian – enough” to include in your collection, and why?

Is there any good thing that Satan created? The book of James chapter 1:17 (KJV) “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” I guess the answer to that question (from the Bible) is obvious.

So, why do we label some good or ungodly?
